Betsy Leon

MS (Provisional License)

Betsy Leon holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is currently practicing under a provisional license. With nine years of experience as a therapist, she is dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and young adults through individual therapy. Betsy works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, stress, family conflict, trauma, and a wide range of life challenges.

Her Approach
Betsy primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to distress. Together, she and her clients work to reframe these thoughts into more balanced perspectives while practicing healthier behaviors. She also incorporates brief solution-focused techniques, emphasizing strengths, existing resources, and practical solutions clients can build upon.

Areas of Experience
Betsy earned her associate degree in Mental Health and Counseling from Hillsborough Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Eckerd College, and a master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. Her education and training have equipped her with both strong clinical skills and a compassionate, client-centered approach to care.

Her Specialty
Betsy is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based approach used with children and adolescents to process and heal from past trauma. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where young clients can feel understood, empowered, and supported on their path toward healing.
